Tyler B. McQuillan is an associate attorney in our San Diego office. Mr. McQuillan assists clients in a range of transactional matters including entity structuring, corporate governance, and corporate financial and commercial transactions. This includes representing companies and investors alike in navigating equity and debt financing events, and serving as general counsel for businesses in the profession services, real estate, and technology industries. Mr. McQuillan also represent clients in litigated business matters including commercial litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, and related matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McQuillan worked for a law firm in Rancho Santa Fe, California, focusing on business transactions and business litigation. Before that experience, Mr. McQuillan worked in the corporate finance and capital markets division of one of the world’s largest investment banks. His background in finance enables him to understand and appreciate clients’ needs from a business perspective, thereby providing advice driving the bottom-line.
Mr. McQuillan obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California San Diego and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law. During law school, Mr. McQuillan spent a semester at the University of Copenhagen and was a member of the San Diego Law Review. He also externed for judges of the United States District Court and the California Court of Appeal, the Office of the Attorney General, and the University of San Diego Entrepreneurship Clinic.
In his free time Mr. McQuillan enjoys practicing yoga and pilates, being tall at concerts (but not on airplanes), and following the daily column of Matt Levine. He is involved in the San Diego County Bar Association–a committee member and editor of its monthly For the Record publication–and serves on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit organization.
