Sarah graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill, NC, receiving two merit based scholarships. While in law school, Sarah served as Notes Editor on the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology and was a Co-Chair for the J. Braxton Craven, Jr. Memorial Competition. She completed over 100 hours of pro bono service, spending time with the UNC Law Cancer Project completing patients’ advanced directives and working through developing NC law to evaluate potential sentences for pro bono clients.
Sarah also served as a legal extern for the Federal Public Defender’s Office in the Eastern District of North Carolina. During her summers, Sarah served as a law clerk in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office homicide unit. She also was a judicial intern for the Honorable Kimberly K. Menninger of the Orange County Superior Court.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in Durham, NC. Sarah majored in History, graduating with minors in Political Science and Education. While at Duke, Sarah was on the Dean’s List in 2013 and was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, a National History Honor Society. Sarah studied abroad in Florence, Italy and also traveled to South Africa as a member of DukeImmerse.
Sarah is a huge Duke and college basketball fan. In her free time, Sarah spends her time running, hiking locally in the Angeles National forest or in the Sierras, looking for live music, cooking and baking, and spending time with family and friends.
