Melissa Wood is an associate with Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP in its Oakland office. Ms. Wood has been practicing law exclusively in Northern California for nearly 20 years. Her practice is concentrated in all aspects of civil litigation including personal injury, construction defect, wrongful death, catastrophic loss, habitability, landlord/tenant disputes, ADA accessibility, products liability, premises liability and other general liability matters.
Ms. Wood has represented individuals and businesses including developers, general contractors, subcontractor trades, small and large businesses, taxi cab companies, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, hotels, banks, security companies, owners and managers of shopping centers, mobile home parks and residential properties. She has successfully represented her clients in all aspects of litigation, including binding arbitration, mediations and trial.
Ms. Wood is a member of the State Bar of California and the Association of Defense Counsel. She is admitted to practice before all Courts in the State of California, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern, Eastern and Central districts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Wood is a graduate of Golden Gate University School of Law (J.D.). During that time, she served as an extern to the Hon. C. Clifton ‘Cliff’ Young (Ret.) of the Nevada Supreme Court. She was also a member of the Dean’s List, and a Merit Scholarship recipient.
She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in Northern California in 2015 and 2016.
